Morning walks always delight in Beechworth, with a different sight to be seen every time you venture out, but almost always something old.
Stroll through the historic buildings of yesteryear - the Old Gold Vault, Old Courthouse and Telegraph Station. Don't forget to explore the side streets where more adventures await.
The iconic Gorge Walk is spectacular and virtually right in town. You can hike around it or take a cycling tour if you're up to it.
As well as this, Beechworth has many fantastic cycling tracks. Check out the nearby rail trails and get lost for a day discovering the surrounding region.
Also known as the Old Beechworth Asylum, then the Beechworth Hospital for the Insane and Mayday Hills Lunatic Asylum, is a decommissioned hospital located in Beechworth. This piece of history was the fourth such hospital built in Victoria, being one of the three largest.
Just a 30 minute drive from Beechworth, you'll find the Milawa Gourmet Region. Visit the Milawa Cheese Factory, Milawa Mustard, Brown Brothers and Wood Park Wines.
